No Twins action, but some good performances and interesting games.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

ANZOATEGUI 6, ZULIA 5 IN ZULIA

Luis Domoromo's two-run double in the ninth brought home the tying and go-ahead runs for Anzoategui.  Zulia put men on first and second with two out in the bottom of the ninth.  Balbino Fuenmayor was 4-for-4 for Anzoategui.  For Zulia, Edgar De La Rosa pitched five innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out two.

LA GUAIRA 4, ARAGUA 1 IN LA GUAIRA

Jose Martinez hit a two-run homer in the first and La Guaira led all the way.  Martinez had three RBIs for the game and the home run was his second of the season.  Junior Guerra pitched seven shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out three.  Luis Villegas was 2-for-4 with a home run, his sixth, for Aragua.

CARACAS 4, LARA 1 IN LARA

Felix Perez' two-run single in the third gave Caracas a 3-0 lead.  Yoimer Camacho pitched three shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

MARGARITA 6, MAGALLANES 1 IN MARGARITA

A five-run third put Margarita in control of the game.  Omar Poveda struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on six hits and two walks.  Magallanes out-hit Margarita 9-8 but went 1-for-12 with men in scoring position.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

JALISCO 5, CULIACAN 2 IN JALISCO

Jalisco scored four in the seventh to break a 1-1 tie.  Amadeo Zazueta had a two-out two-run double in the inning.  Japhet Amador hit a home run, his second.  Kyle Lloyd struck out six in six innings, giving up one run on five hits.  For Culiacan, D'Arby Myers was 3-for-3 with a double and Joey Meneses hit a home run, his fourth.  Dusten Knight struck out eight in six innings, giving up two runs on two hits and four walks.

MAZATLAN 4, LOS MOCHIS 1 IN LOS MOCHIS

Brian Hernandez hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Mazatlan led all the way.  It was Hernandez' fifth home run of the season.  Felipe Gonzalez pitched three shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk while striking out two.

NAVOJOA 4, MEXICALI 2 IN NAVOJOA

Carlos Mendivil's two-run double in the seventh broke a 2-2 tie.  Raul Carrillo pitched six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five.

HERMOSILLO 6, OBREGON 3 IN HERMOSILLO

Obregon scored two in the top of the eighth to tie it 3-3, but Domonic Brown hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to win it for Hermosillo.  Brown's home run was his sixth.  Josh Smith pitched five innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk while striking out two.  Eduardo Arredondo was 3-for-4 for Obregon.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

ESCOGIDO 1, TOROS 0 IN ESCOGIDO

Pablo Reyes' RBI single with two out in the second produced the game's only run.  Nick Additon struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up five hits.  For the Toros, Raul Valdes struck out six in six innings, giving up an unearned run on eight hits and two walks.

AGUILAS 10, LICEY 1 AT AGUILAS

Ronny Rodriguez' two-run single in the second put the Aguilas up 2-1.  They led 5-1 after five, then scored five in the sixth to put the game out of reach.  Juan Perez was 3-for-4 and scored three times.  Zoilo Almonte was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer (his fifth) and a walk.  Yunesky Maya pitched five innings, giving up a run on four hits and a walk while striking out four.  His reliever, Yoenis Elias, did even better, striking out five in four shutout innings and giving up only a walk.  For Licey, Engel Beltre hit a home run, his third.

GIGANTES AT ESTRELLAS

Rained out.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

SYDNEY 4, ADELAIDE 2 IN SYDNEY

Sydney scored four in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.  Luke Wilkins struck out seven in seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks.  For Adelaide, Greg Mosel pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out five.

PERTH 8, MELBOURNE 5 IN MELBOURNE

Garrett Whitley hit a two-run homer in the first and Perth built a 7-0 lead after four.  Melbourne closed to 7-5 in the sixth but could do no more.  Michael Brosseau was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double, driving in four.  Whitley was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk.  Jake Fraley was 2-for-5 with a home run (his second) and a walk.  For Melbourne, Tomoya Mori was 3-for-5 with two doubles.  Allan de San Miguel was 2-for-5 with a home run and a double, driving in three.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

PEORIA 8, MESA 2 IN SCOTTSDALE

Mesa got two runs in the first inning and nothing else.  Peoria got on the board in the second and scored three in the third to go into the lead for good.  Ronald Acuna's (Atlanta) RBI single tied the score and a two-run single by Alex Jackson (Atlanta) put Peoria ahead.  They added two in the fourth and two in the eighth.  Acuna was 2-for-4 with four RBIs.  Jonathan Davis (Toronto) was 1-for-3 with a triple and scored three times.  T. J. Zeuch (Toronto) pitched 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out two.  For Mesa, Jaycob Brugman (Oakland) was 3-for-4.

Peoria wins the Arizona Fall League championship.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

ZULIA 6, ANZOATEGUI 3 IN ZULIA

Anzoategui led 3-0, but Zulia scored three in the sixth and three in the eighth to win.  Herlis Rodriguez was 3-for-4.  Elvis Araujo pitched four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on eight hits while striking out one.  Tomas Telis was 4-for-4 with a double to lead Anzoategui.  Yender Caramo pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

CARACAS 3, ARAGUA 2 IN ARAGUA

Felix Perez homered with one out in the eighth to break a 2-2 tie.  Perez was 2-for-4 and the home run was his fourth.  Manny Correa pitched five innings, giving up one run on three hits while striking out one.  For Aragua, Francisco Rodriguez pitched 4.2 innings, giving up one run on five hits and three walks while striking out four.

LARA 8, LA GUAIRA 4 IN LA GUAIRA

Lara scored two in the first and led all the way, taking an 8-1 lead in the sixth.  Henry Urrutia was 3-for-4.  Juniel Querecuto was 3-for-5. Carlos Rivero was 2-for-5 with a home run (his second) and four RBIs.

MAGALLANES 5, MARGARITA 4 IN MARGARITA

Margarita led 3-0 after four, but Jesus Valdez hit a grand slam to give Magallanes a lead they would not lose.  Andres Blanco was 3-for-4 with a triple.  The grand slam was Valdez' thirteenth homer, as he was 1-for-3 with two walks.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

JALISCO 6, CULIACAN 4 IN JALISCO

Brock Stassi's two-run triple in the eighth broke a 3-3 tie.  Stassi was 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs.  Tyler Alexander struck out eight in 5.1 innings, giving up two unearned runs on five hits and a walk.  Ali Solis hit a home run for Culiacan.  Edgar Gonzalez pitched five shutout innings, giving up six hits while striking out two.

MAZATLAN 8, LOS MOCHIS 0 IN LOS MOCHIS

Mazatlan scored single runs in the first, second, and fifth, then scored four in the sixth to put the game out of reach.  Mazatlan had only five hits but drew nine walks.  Gilberto Galaviz was 2-for-3 with a grand slam (his second homer) and a walk.  Dustin Crenshaw pitched four shutout innings of relief, giving up two hits.  For Los Mochis, Luis Niebla pitched four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks while striking out three.

OBREGON 7, HERMOSILLO 0 IN HERMOSILLO

Obregon scored single runs in the third, fourth, and sixth, then scored four in the ninth to put the game out of reach.  Adam Law was 3-for-4 with a double.  Justin Greene was 3-for-5 with a double.  Tomo Otosaka was 3-for-5.  Kevin McGovern struck out seven in 5.1 scoreless innings, giving up five hits and two walks.  For Hermosillo, Domonic Brown was 3-for-4.  Chandler Shepherd pitched five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two.

NAVOJOA 3, MEXICALI 2 IN NAVOJOA (10 INNINGS)

Randy Arozarena led off the tenth with a walkoff homer. He was 2-for-4 with a double in addition to his seventh homer of the season.  Jovan Rosa hit a home run, his eighth.  Eddie Gamboa pitched 6.2 innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk while striking out six.  Miguel Pena pitched seven innings for Mexicali, giving up two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out six.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  T. J. White (Gigantes) was 0-for-3.

ESTRELLAS 7, LICEY 2 IN LICEY

The Estrellas scored three in the first and led all the way.  Socrates Brito was 3-for-5.  Frank Schwindel was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.  Evan MacLane struck out five in five innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and two walks.

ESCOGIDO 6, GIGANTES 1 AT GIGANTES

Escogido took a 2-0 lead with two in the third and put the game out of reach with three in the sixth.  Wilkin Castillo was 3-for-5.  Kelvin Marte pitched 4.2 innings, giving up one run on five hits and two walks while striking out one.

TOROS 2, AGUILAS 0 AT TOROS

The Toros scored two in the eighth to break a scoreless tie.  There were only six hits in the game, five of them singles.  Elih Villanueva pitched five shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks while striking out three.  For the Aguilas, Francisley Bueno pitched four shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk while striking out three.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Aaron Whitefield (Brisbane) was 0-for-3.  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 0-for-3.

SYDNEY 4, ADELAIDE 3 IN SYDNEY (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

Connor McDonald's RBI single in the sixth tied it 3-3 and the winning run scored on a strikeout/wild pitch.  Craig Anderson struck out eight in six innings, giving up three runs on six hits.  For Adelaide, Jack O'Loughlin pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits while striking out four.

SYDNEY 5, ADELAIDE 4 IN SYDNEY (GAME 2)

Sydney scored two in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead.  Adelaide cut it to 5-4 in the fifth.  Jin-De Jhang hit a two-run homer for Sydney.

BRISBANE 5, CANBERRA 2 IN BRISBANE (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

Andrew Campbell hit a grand slam in the fourth to break a 1-1 tie.  Mitch Nilsson was 3-for-3 with two doubles.  Tim Atherton struck out twelve in six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk.

BRISBANE AT CANBERRA (GAME 2)

MELBOURNE 6, PERTH 5 IN MELBOURNE (GAME 1--8 INNINGS--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Jared Cruz hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to tie it and Liam Bedford's two-out double brought home the winning run.  Jarryd Dale hit a two-run homer.  Darryl George hit a home run.  For Perth, Zacrey Law was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his third) and a double.  Ryan Kift hit a two-run homer.  Dylan Thompson struck out eight in five innings, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk.

PERTH 10, MELBOURNE 5 IN MELBOURNE (GAME 2)

Perth scored two in the first and led all the way.  It was just 5-4 after six, but two in the seventh and two in the eighth put the game out of reach.  Jesse Williams was 3-for-4 with a walk.  Garrett Whitley was 2-for-3 with three walks.  For Melbourne, Darryl George was 3-for-6 with a home run (his second) and a double.  Melbourne had 10 hits and 12 walks but stranded 14 baserunners, going 3-for-16 with men in scoring position.

Twins:  Anthony Marzi (Margarita) pitched 6.1 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out four.

LARA 9, MAGALLANES 1 IN MAGALLANES

Henry Urrutia hit a three-run homer in the third to break a 1-1 tie.  Urrutia was 3-for-3 with his fourth home run and four RBIs.  Jecksson Flores was 2-for-5 with a grand slam.  Raul Rivero pitched seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts.

ZULIA 5, ANZOATEGUI 4 IN ZULIA

Jairo Perez singled home Ali Castillo with the winning run with two out in the ninth.  Castillo was 3-for-5 with two doubles.  Perez was also 3-for-5.  Tomas Telis hit a home run for Anzoategui.

MARGARITA 4, LA GUAIRA 3 IN MARGARITA

Leonardo Reginatto's two-run single in the eighth turned a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 win for Margarita.  Marzi was the star for Margarita, as detailed above.  For La Guaira, Tommy Collier struck out nine in 5.1 scoreless innings, giving up six hits and a walk.

CARACAS 4, ARAGUA 3 IN CARACAS (10 INNINGS)

Alberto Callaspo hit a two-run homer in the eighth for Aragua to tie it 3-3.  In the tenth, Henry Alejandro Rodriguez singled home Javier Betancourt with the winning run for Caracas.  Trayvon Robinson was 2-for-5 with a home run (his third) and three RBIs.  Luis Diaz pitched seven innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk while striking out three.  Callaspo was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk.  Guillermo Moscoso pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits and no walks while striking out three.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

CULIACAN 5, JALISCO 3 IN JALISCO

Joey Meneses and Cody Decker each homered in the sixth to give Culiacan a 5-1 lead.  Meneses was 3-for-4 with a home run (his third) and a double.  Sebastian Elizalde was 3-for-3 with a triple and two doubles.  Decker was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Aldo Montes pitched 6.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits and five walks while striking out five.  Agustin Murillo hit a home run, his fifth, for Jalisco.

NAVOJOA 1, MEXICALI 0 IN NAVOJOA

Max Ramirez hit a home run in the third for the game's only run.  It was Ramirez' second homer of the season.  Jaime Lugo pitched 7.2 scoreless innings, giving up five hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Rolando Valdez pitched six innings for Navojoa, giving up one run on three hits and no walks while striking out three.

MAZATLAN 8, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN LOS MOCHIS

Cyle Hankerd in a two-run single in the third, Mazatlan got two more in the fourth, and Mazatlan led all the way.  Corey Brown was 2-for-5 with a home run (his fifth) and a double, driving in four.  Mitch Lively struck out seven in six innings, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk.  Michael Wing hit a two-run homer for Los Mochis.

HERMOSILLO 6, OBREGON 3 IN HERMOSILLO

Hermosillo scored on a double play in the seventh to take a 4-3 lead and added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth.  Jose Amador was 3-for-4 with a double.  Roberto Ramos was 2-for-3 with two home runs and a walk.

Apparently there was rain in the Dominican Republic.

Sydney scored in each of the eight innings they batted.  Chih-Hsien Chiang was 3-for-4 with a home run and a triple.  Trent D'Antonio was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, scoring three times.  Michael Suchy hit a two-run homer.  Gavin Fingleson had three RBIs.  Trevor Foss struck out seven in six innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks.  Rodrigo Ayarza homered for the lone Adelaide run.

BRISBANE 5, CANBERRA 4 IN BRISBANE

Canberra led 4-0 in the second, but Brisbane cut it to 4-3 and then scored two on a Wade single in the sixth to go into the lead to stay.  T. J. Barrett hit a two-run homer, his second.  For Canberra, Connor Panas was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer.  Kyle Perkins was 1-for-3 with a homer and a walk.  Lake Bachar struck out four in four innings, giving up one run on two hits and three walks.

PERTH 9, MELBOURNE 1 IN MELBOURNE

Ex-Twin Luke Hughes hit a grand slam in the sixth to give Perth a 6-0 lead.  Hughes was 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs.  Jake Fraley was 3-for-4 with a home run and a walk.  Zacrey Law was 2-for-4 with two home runs.  Alex Boshers struck out nine in six innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  Brett Cumberland was 2-for-4 with a home run for Melbourne.

Games of November 16

The Arizona Fall League ends and the Australian League begins.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

Twins:  Chris Paul was 2-for-5.  Sean Miller was 1-for-4.  Tyler Jay pitched one inning, giving up a run on two hits while striking out one.  Tom Hackimer pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit.

SURPRISE 10, MESA 5 IN MESA

Surprise scored three in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.  It was 5-2 after six, but Surprise scored five in the seventh to put the game out of reach.  Brett Sullivan (Tampa Bay) was 3-for-5.  Brandon Lowe (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a triple.  Tyler Davis (Texas) pitched four innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks while striking out one.  Kody Eaves (Detroit) was 2-for-5 with a home run, his third, for Mesa.

GLENDALE 11, SALT RIVER 3 IN SALT RIVER

Glendale scored three in the first to take the lead.  It was 5-3 after seven, but Glendale scored three in the eighth and three in the ninth.  Cornelius Randolph (Philadelphia) was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk.  Logan Hill (Pittsburgh) was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.  Danny Mendick (White Sox) was 3-for-5.  For Salt River, Braxton Lee (Miami) was 3-for-5.

PEORIA 7, SCOTTSDALE 4 IN PEORIA

Peoria scored two in each of the first two innings to take a 4-1 lead.  It was 4-3 after seven, but Peoria scored three in the eighth.  Eric Filia (Seattle) was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Alex Jackson (Atlanta) was 2-for-4 with a double.

This concludes the Arizona Fall League regular season.  Mesa will play Peoria in the championship game Saturday.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

ANZOATEGUI 5, MAGALLANES 4 IN MAGALLANES

With the score tied 4-4, Luis Domoromo singled home Tomas Telis to give Anzoategui the lead.  Rene Reyes was 3-for-4 with a walk.  For Magallanes, Jesus Valdez was 3-for-4 with a double and Juan Apodaca was 3-for-4.

LA GUAIRA 6, MARGARITA 5 IN MARGARITA

La Guaira trailed 2-0, 3-1, and 4-3, but Jose Gomez hit a three-run homer in the eighth to give La Guaira a 6-4 lead and they did not give up that lead.  Jose Castillo was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer.  For Margarita, Leonardo Reginatto was 3-for-5 and Mauricio Ramos hit a home run, his second.

CARACAS 4, ARAGUA 2 IN CARACAS

Caracas scored two in the third and led 4-0 after four.  Felix Perez hit a two-run homer, his third.  Dylan Unsworth struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up three hits.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

LOS MOCHIS 12, JALISCO 2 IN JALISCO

Los Mochis scored two in the first, five in the third, and three in the fifth to build a 10-0 lead.  Noel Cuevas was 4-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fourth.  Juan Carlos Gamboa was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs.  Ramon Urias hit a home run.  Jonathan Castellanos pitched six innings, giving up two runs on one hit and two walks while striking out four.  For Jalisco, Manny Rodriguez was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer (his sixth) and a walk.

OBREGON 2, NAVOJOA 1 IN NAVOJOA (11 INNINGS)

Emmanuel Avila's RBI double scored Eduardo Arredondo with the go-ahead run.  Yosmany Guerra hit a home run for the other Obregon run.  Irwin Delgado struck out six in six innings, giving up four hits.  For Navojoa, Tyler Kane pitched four shutout innings, giving up two hits and six walks while striking out two.

MEXICALI 5, CULIACAN 1 IN CULIACAN

A three-run third put Mexicali up 4-0.  Luis Juarez was 3-for-4 with a home run, his third.  Sergio Mitre (remember him?) struck out eight in seven innings, giving up one run on eight hits.

HERMOSILLO 4, MAZATLAN 2 IN MAZATLAN

Domonic Brown hit a three-run homer in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.  It was his fifth home run of the season.  Ryan Verdugo pitched 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

LICEY 2, ESCOGIDO 0 IN LICEY (6 INNINGS--RAIN)

It was scoreless through five.  With two out in the sixth, Yamaico Navarro hit a two-run single for the only runs of the game.  The next batter was retired and the game was halted after that.  Esmil Rogers struck out seven in a complete game, giving up four hits and a walk.  Mike Mayers also pitched a complete game, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three.

ESTRELLAS 8, AGUILAS 3 AT ESTRELLAS

The Estrellas scored five in the second to take a 5-0 lead.  The Aguilas cut the lead to 5-3, but the Estrellas scored three in the seventh to put the game out of reach.  Gabriel Guerrero was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, his fourth.  Misael Silverio pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and a walk while striking out two.  For the Aguilas, Zoilo Almonte was 2-for-4 with a home run, his fourth.  Pedro Severino hit a two-run homer.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Aaron Whitefield (Brisbane) was 3-for-5 with a double.  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.

BRISBANE 8, CANBERRA 5 IN BRISBANE

It was tied 1-1, 3-3, and 4-4.  In the bottom of the seventh, two-run singles by Wade and Adam Weisenburger made it 8-4 and this time they held the lead.  In addition to Whitefield and Wade. T. J. Bennett hit a home run.  Ryan Bollinger struck out nine in 5.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk.  For Canberra, David Kandilas hit a two-run homer and Kyle Perkins also hit a home run.

Games of November 15

Not much good news for Twins players.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

Twins:  Sean Miller was 0-for-3.  Andrew Vasquez pitched one inning, giving up one run on two hits and a walk while striking out one.

MESA 5, SURPRISE 2 IN SURPRISE

A. J. Simcox' two-run double in the sixth gave Mesa a 3-2 lead.  Simcox (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.  Framber Valdez (Houston) struck out five in four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks.  Three relievers struck out eight in five perfect innings.  For Surprise, Jordan Hicks (St. Louis) pitched three innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

GLENDALE 5, SALT RIVER 4 IN GLENDALE

Will Smith (Dodgers) hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Glendale led the rest of the way.  Salt River had the tying run on second base with one out in the ninth.  Smith's homer was his second.  Ka'ai Tom (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a double.  Jack Reinheimer (Arizona) was 3-for-3 with a triple for Salt River.

MAGALLANES 12, ZULIA 10 IN MAGALLANES

Magallanes scored two in the seventh to break a 9-9 tie.  Ronny Cedeno was 3-for-5 with a double.  Jesus Valdez was 2-for-5 with two home runs (his eleventh and twelfth) and three RBIs.  Mario Lisson was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.  For Zulia, Ali Castillo went 5-for-5 with a double and four RBIs.  Hector Gimenez was 3-for-3 with a home run (his third) and two walks, scoring four times.  Jose Herrera was 2-for-5 with a home run.

LARA 3, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA

Lara scored two in the third and led the rest of the way.  Alejandro De Aza was 3-for-4 with a double.  Juniel Querecuto was 3-for-4 with a double.  Williams Perez struck out five in 4.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and three walks.

ANZOATEGUI 8, ARAGUA 4 IN ARAGUA

Anzoategui scored six in the sixth to take an 8-3 lead.  Balbino Fuenmayor was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and a double, driving in four.

CARACAS 6, LA GUAIRA 5 IN CARACAS (11 INNINGS)

Felix Perez singled home the winning run in the eleventh inning.  Jesus Guzman was 4-for-5 with a walk and three RBIs.  Carlos Perez was 3-for-5 with a walk.  For La Guaira, Heiker Meneses was 3-for-4 with a triple and a walk.

JALISCO 3, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN JALISCO

Jalisco took a 3-2 lead with two in the eighth, with the go-ahead run scoring on a bases-loaded walk.  Amadeo Zazueta was 3-for-5.  Daniel Guerrero pitched five innings, giving up one run on seven hits and three walks while striking out two.  For Los Mochis, Sebastian Valle was 3-for-4 with a home run (his sixth) and a double.  Luis Perez pitched five inning, giving up one run on four hits and six walks.

NAVOJOA 6, OBREGON 1 IN NAVOJOA

Max Ramirez hit a two-run homer in the second and Navojoa lead the rest of the way.  Jovan Rosa was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, his seventh.  Zack Dodson pitched six shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out four.

CULIACAN 3, MEXICALI 1 IN CULIACAN

Culiacan scored one in the fifth and two in the sixth to take a 3-0 lead.  Josh Fuentes was 3-for-4 with a home run, his third.  Anthony Vasquez struck out seven in 6.2 innings, giving up one run on ten hits and no walks.  For Mexicali, Javier Solano pitched seven innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on ten hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  The two teams combined for twenty-three hits but scored only four runs.

HERMOSILLO 9, MAZATLAN 7 IN MAZATLAN

Hermosillo scored five in the fifth to go ahead 6-2.  They eventually built a 9-3 lead before Mazatlan scored four in the ninth.  For Mazatlan, Roberto Valenzuela was 4-for-5 with a double.  Jeremias Pineda was 1-for-2 with a home run (his second) and two walks.  Corey Brown was 1-for-4 with three RBIs.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  T. J. White (Gigantes) was 0-for-5.

GIGANTES 6, TOROS 4 AT TOROS

The Gigantes scored four in the third to take a 5-0 lead.  Moises Sierra was 3-for-5 with two doubles.  For the Toros, Alexi Casilla (remember him?) was 3-for-5 with two doubles.

Twins:  Chris Paul was 2-for-4.  Ryan Eades struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.

SURPRISE 6, SCOTTSDALE 5 IN SURPRISE

Surprise trailed 5-0 after three and still trailed 5-2 after seven.  Edmundo Sosa (St. Louis) had a two-run double in a three-run eighth that tied the score.  In the ninth, Yanio Perez (Texas) singled home the winning run with one out.  For Scottsdale, Estevan Florial (Yankees) was 3-for-4 with two doubles and Tyler Beede (San Francisco) pitched five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and no walks with one strikeout.

GLENDALE 5, MESA 1 IN MESA

Cornelius Randolph's (Philadelphia) two-run single in the first inning gave Glendale all the runs they really needed.  It was 2-1 after one, but Glendale added single runs in the fourth, sixth, and eighth.  Zach Green (Philadelphia) was 3-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a double.  Sean Brady (Cleveland) pitched four innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks while striking out two.  Sheldon Neuse (Oakland) hit a home run for Mesa, his fifth.

SALT RIVER 11, PEORIA 4 IN SALT RIVER

Salt River led 5-0 after three.  Peoria cut the margin to 5-3, but Peoria scored two in the fifth and four in the sixth to put the game out of reach.  Brian Mundell (Colorado) was 3-for-3 with a double, two walks, and three RBIs.  Monte Harrison (Milwaukee) was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer (his fifth) and a walk, scoring three times.  Anthony Santander (Baltimore) was 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, and three RBIs.  For Peoria, Michael Chavis (Boston) was 2-for-4 with two home runs (his third and fourth) and three RBIs.

MARGARITA 4, LARA 2 IN MARGARITA

Lara scored one in the first, but Margarita got two in the second and two in the third to go up 4-1.  Leonardo Reginatto hit a two-run homer in the second to give Margarita the lead.  Omar Poveda pitched six innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits and no walks with three strikeouts.  Henry Urrutia hit a home run for Lara, his third.

ARAGUA 5, ANZOATEGUI 3 IN ARAGUA

Francisco Arcia's two-run single in the eighth broke a 3-3 tie.  Alberti Chavez was 3-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring three times.  Alberto Callaspo was 3-for-4.  Luis Jimenez hit a three-run homer for Anzoategui, his third.

Magallanes scored two in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie, with Adonis Garcia driving in the go-ahead run with a single.  Ronny Cedeno was 4-for-4.  Jesus Tinoco pitched 4.2 innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks with no strikeouts.  Herlis Rodriguez was 4-for-4 for Zulia.  Carlos Moncrief hit a home run, his second.  Wilfredo Boscan pitched four innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks with no strikeouts.  The two teams combined for only four strikeouts.

CARACAS 8, LA GUAIRA 4 IN LA GUAIRA

Caracas took a 3-0 lead in the first inning.  La Guaira cut it to 3-2 in the fourth, but in the seventh Caracas scored five more to put the game out of reach.  Trayvon Robinson was 3-for-5 with a double.  Seth Frankoff pitched five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk with one strikeout.

JALISCO 15, LOS MOCHIS 3 IN JALISCO

Japhet Amador hit a two-run double in a four-run fourth that put Jalisco up 6-2.  Amadeo Zazueta was 4-for-5 with three doubles and a walk, scoring three times.  Manny Rodriguez was 3-for-6 with a home run (his fifth), a double, and three RBIs.  Billy Burns was 3-for-6 with three runs.  Jarrod Saltalamacchia was 1-for-2 with a home run (his third) and two walks.  Juan Carlos Gamboa hit a home run for Los Mochis, his second.

NAVOJOA 4, OBREGON 2 IN NAVOJOA

Navojoa scored two in the sixth to break a 2-2 tie, with the go-ahead run coming in on a wild pitch.  Quincy Latimore was 3-for-4 with a double.  Randy Arozarena hit a home run, his sixth.  Raul Carrillo pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two.

CULIACAN 5, MEXICALI 4 IN CULIACAN (10 INNINGS)

Culiacan scored four in the third to go ahead 4-1, but Mexicali tied it with single runs in the fourth, seventh, and ninth.  With two out in the tenth, Sebastian Elizalde scored from first on a single by Ronnier Mustelier to win the game.  Elizalde was 4-for-5.  For Mexicali, C. J. Retherford was 3-for-4 with a home run, his fifth, and Luis Juarez was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.

MAZATLAN 6, HERMOSILLO 0 IN MAZATLAN

Mazatlan scored three in the third and controlled the game from there.  Alejandro Soto pitched eight shutout innings, giving up three hits and one walk while striking out five.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  David Hurlbut (Licey) pitched a six-inning complete game, giving up just one hit and one walk while striking out three.  T. J. White (Gigantes) was 0-for-4.  Adalberto Mejia (Gigantes) pitched four innings, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

LICEY 6, ESCOGIDO 0 IN ESCOGIDO (6 1/2 INNINGS--RAIN)

Licey scored three in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.  Julio Borbon was 3-for-3 with a triple and a walk.  David Hurlbut was the pitching star, as detailed above.  The lone Escogido hit came from Erik Gonzalez, who singled leading off the bottom of the first.

GIGANTES 4, TOROS 3 AT GIGANTES

Trailing 2-1, the Gigantes scored three in the seventh to go into the lead to stay.  The Gigantes drew five walks in the inning.  The Toros got the tying run to third with two out in the ninth.  Adonis Rosa struck out three in three perfect innings of relief for the Gigantes.  For the Toros, Bryan Evans pitched five innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts.

SCOTTSDALE 2, SURPRISE 0 IN SURPRISE

Thairo Estrada (Yankees) had an RBI triple in the second and scored on a sacrifice fly for the only two runs of the game.  Surprise out-hit Scottsdale 7-2.  Albert Abreu (Yankees) pitched five shutout innings, giving up six hits and two walks with no strikeouts.  Andrew Knizner (St. Louis) was 3-for-4 for Surprise.

GLENDALE 10, MESA 3 IN GLENDALE

Glendale scored five in the second and five in the third to take a 10-0 lead.  Yusniel Diaz (Dodgers) was 3-for-5 with a double.  Mitchell Tolman (Pittsburgh) was 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.  D. J. Peters (Dodgers) hit a home run.  Andrew Sopko (Dodgers) pitched four shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk while striking out two.

PEORIA 2, SALT RIVER 1 IN PEORIA

Peoria trailed 1-0 going to the eighth, but RBI singles by Eric Filia (Seattle) and Ronald Acuna (Atlanta) gave them the win.  Max Povse (Seattle) pitched six innings, giving up one run on seven hits and no walks while striking out four.  For Salt River, Ryan Atkinson (Arizona) struck out seven in five shutout innings, giving up two hits and three walks.
