Up-to-date, But Just for the Moment

We're caught up, but I've been unexpectedly called out of town, so we'll probably fall behind again.  We'll get caught up (again) as soon as we can.  Thank you for your patience.

Games of May 21

A rainout and a suspended game help us get caught up.  Brett Lee has a standout game.  Felix Jorge pitches pretty well, too.

ROCHESTER AT NORFOLK

Rained out.  Will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.

CHATTANOOGA AT MOBILE

The game was suspended with the Lookouts leading 2-0 and still batting in the top of the third.  It will be completed today.

We Interrupt This Blog

I'll be out of range of the internet Wednesday and have a busy Thursday coming up.  I'll get things caught up as soon as I can, but it may be Friday before I have time to do it.  Sorry about that, but sometimes life gets in the way of baseball.  I hate it when that happens.

Games of May 18

A tremendous complete-game shutout for Tommy Milone leads the Red Wings to victory.  Jose Berrios isn't terrible, but isn't good enough for the Lookouts.  Three three-run innings carry the Miracle.  The Kernels win the completion of the suspended game but waste the pitching of Mat Batts in the scheduled game.

The game:  The Marauders led 1-0 after two, but three singles, a walk, and a couple of productive outs produced three fourth-inning runs to put the Miracle up 3-1.  It was 3-2 after four, but Kanzler hit a two-run homer in a three-run fifth to give the Miracle a commanding lead.  It was 11-2 after seven and a half before the Marauders scored a few meaningless late runs.
